FAMILY FESTIVAL WITH TIPS, BANDS AND STREET FOOD

Last summer we supplied our cream canvas tipis for a joint 16th, 18th and 50th for Kate and David and their children. An epic family festival held at Fiesta Fields venue, Spirit Lake.

Kate called me earlier in the year with her vision of an awesome outdoor celebration, with glamping/camping, lots of music, street food and festival vibes.

We quoted to provide a large dance tent by the lower lake - ‘the main stage’ - and a smaller chill out space in the walled garden. For Kate and David’s expected plus 200 guests we joined three of our giant hat stratus tipis in a triangle formation with a stage and dance floor in one tipi and the two front tipis open and facing the lake to let the views in. Fairy lights, a disco ball and three of our oxblood red chesterfields were all we really needed to provide to complete the space, leaving maximum space for dancing. Our tipis looked out on the gorgeous lake view and the run of 25 bell tents from Beautiful Bells.

In the walled garden we set up our cirrus tipi with more fairy lights, Moroccan chill out seating, low tables and lanterns. Love the fab shot of the personalised deckchair Kate’s sister had made as a surprise for Kate and David.

On the Saturday it was time for final finishing touches and soon guests were arriving, collecting their festival wrist bands on the way in. The venue’s vintage tractor trailer was standing by to help drop guests up to the walled garden, while others walked down the pretty bunting and fairy light marked path.

Guests headed to their bell tents to drop their stuff, or for the campers they got busy setting up their tents. Soon everyone was gathered together in the walled garden to start the days’ celebrations, enjoying the sunshine and a glass of fizz. Karenza from Arty Party was on hand to get the festival vibes going with a bit of face paint or glitter.

Kate and family had been baking up an absolute storm to put on a most amazing afternoon tea. A few lawn games and a chance to catch up kept guests entertained until the funky little uke band called El Banda Burros played their set.

A bit later in the afternoon, and the activity moved to the ‘main stage’ by the lake, with the powerful and soulful voice of Hollie Rogers (and her guitarist) playing an acoustic folksy set.

The Three Cockerels got the main bar open and the food trucks started serving a choice of burgers , pizzas and paella.

Early evening arrived and it was such a lovely evening, everyone was enjoying being outside but Charley Blue encouraged them inside as she took to the stage. A singing, rapping violin player who appeared on the voice and was snapped up by the awesome Will.i.am.

By now the lovely Emmelina had arrived with Stitch her VW photo booth, where loads of fun was had. I mean who doesn’t love a photo booth?

At 7.30pm the headliners, Apres Ski took to the stage in the most fabulous glittery trousers and got the dancefloor bouncing with clubby classics. Once they had finished The Silent Disco Company hosted a brilliant DJ set to keep the dance floor packed and at midnight switched seamlessly to a silent disco and went on until 1am.

On Sunday, Eat The Farm whizzed up a breakfast of bacon and sausage baps and pastries, washed down with fresh coffee, tea and juices and sadly it was time to clear up and say goodbyes, but what a party!
